Ceremony

from Hip the Hip by Diane Patterson

/

about

Such a sweet memory of Linda and Gary Dyken's wedding, for which I wrote this. Their announcement sported a bunch of these words. She is a Yaki Indian-descendant woman, so I wrote in some words from Don Juan's teachings, and generally tapped in to the love magic.

lyrics

Ceremony lyrics
Diane Patterson

We circle in the meadow to beckon the spirits
And welcome the loved ones
Prayer stick passes hand to hand
And heart to heart
We weave a spell of healing for this union
Time now stands still as we move in to ceremony
We turn the earth upside down
We toil and sweat
Sowing dreams, seeking deepness, eyes wide open
Ritual music, great spirit bless this sacred passion
Time now stands still as we move in to ceremony
Circle in, ever in to ceremony
The essence of love made, soft and strong
Not yet a memory, it still warms upon the open heart
